Christy Ring Cup Semi Final

Mayo v Kerry | Christy Ring Cup Semi Final

Saturday May 31st – McHale Park – 1pm

Our county hurlers have reached the semi final of the Christy Ring Cup for the first time in six years and fortunately have been granted the home venue. The boys are just one game away from a Croke Park showpiece.

This is a great opportunity for all Mayo GAA supporters to get out and support this fantastic group of players over the long weekend. Many of these players began their careers at Cumann na mBunscol level and we’re very proud of all they have achieved so far this year.

Go n-eirí libh, Maigh Eo abú!

Teams who win their semi will need to submit an article for the county final programme, some people submit it before they play the semi!  But I need to give you advance notice as it will be needed immediately after your semi final for the county finals programme, otherwise you won’t be in the programme. You could have it ready anyway.
It is to be 100 words or less and to include a little biography of your school and / or a history of your previous involvement in Cumann na mBunscol finals or area finals or your path to the final this year or famous past pupils etc…

Also with the article please include an exact numbered team list of your players and subs as they will tog out on the day. If you are in 2 finals please send 2 seperate teamlists. You may wish to write 2 slightly different articles.

Please forward to Walter Cox by email

waltercoxkilmeena@gmail.com

Please send this ASAP, by May 31st at the very latest or the printer will not accept it.

Football Semi-Finals

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Maigh Eo

Football Semi Finals | Wednesday, May 21

MAYO_1

We will have 4 pitches in operation on Wednesday. Try to arrive at least a half hour before your throw-in time to allow for finding your venue, togging out, warming up etc.As always there is a tight schedule with 12 games in all so latecomers will hold things up badly and you may forfeit your game.

We will have neutral officials: 1 referee and 1 linesman per game as well as, hopefully, 1 umpire per goal. Team mentors will not be permitted behind the goals. We would ask all schools to follow directions on the day and comply with our motto of “Give Respect, Get Respect” and ensure that all team mentors and supporters behave in an appropriate manner.

Matches are 10, 12 or 15 minutes per half depending on your division and extra time will be played on the day at 5 minutes per half. If this fails to separate teams then there will be one further 5 minute single half. After that, we’ll have to replay.

Teams will be photographed prior to your game by our official photographer and hopefully you will appear in the local papers the following week. If you make the county final that will also be the picture in the programme and I will be looking for a numbered teamlist and brief article on your school, more of that later.

If there’s any errors please get in touch. I would like to thank all of you for your efforts thus far and to thank all the area organisers for their tireless work every year in running everything. Thanks also to the numerous clubs and venues who have facilitated us all year.

Good luck to all.
