Connacht GAA Award 1 (Youth & Adult) Hurling Coaching Course

Venue: 

Connacht Centre of Excellence, Bekan, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo.

Details: 

Commences Tuesday 4^h February 2014. Six sessions of three hours duration. Completion on Tuesday 11^th March. (7.00 til 10.00 each night).

Invited:

For coaches from Mayo/Sligo/Ross/Leitrim who have completed the Foundation Award Hurling Coaching Course. Specifically for coaches with players from U13 to Senior level. Ideal also for secondary school teachers and camogie coaches.

Price:

Course cost is €80. Cheques made payable to Connacht GAA. Clubs usually cover the cost of their coaches, but check with your club secretary/coaching officer in advance.

Accreditation:

Both the Award1 (Youth) and Award1 (Adult) Certificates will be awarded at the completion of the course, recognised by Croke Park and Coaching Ireland.

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Handball County Finals 2014 

The Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Maigh Eo Handball County Finals will take place this Saturday, January at 10am in An Sportlann, Castlebar.

The competitions will run as follows:

Girls’ singles under 11

Girls’ doubles under 11

Boys’ singles under 11

Boys’ doubles under 11

Girls’ singles under 13

Girls’ doubles under 13

Boys’ singles under 13

Boys’ doubles under 13

Rules:

Age Limits: All competitors to be under 11 or under 13 on the 1/1/14.

Entries: Please Note –  Only 1 entry per category per school, you cannot have 2 single boys or girls at either under 11 or under 13 or enter 2 teams in any of the doubles events.

If you have multiple entries, you will need to have play offs within your own school or club to select the best players to play in the above grades on the day of the competition.

Handball Rules should be explained to the competitors before the day of the competition and players should be familiar with at least the basics of the game.

                On the Day of the Competition

All competitors please be on time, aim to arrive  ½ an hour before the competition and present themselves on arrival for registration,then tog out etc

The competition will start at 10am with the Under 11s.

It is difficult to give an exact time for the Under 13s

All competitors must wear proper attire including protective goggles and gloves.

The Cumann na mBunscol Maigh Eo Handball competition will take place later this month (January 2014, date and venue to be confirmed).
