The Connacht Council spent just over €1.2m on coaching throughout the province in 2012, it was reported at the recent Connacht GAA Convention. This amounts to half of all the Council’s expenditure for the year. To put the figure in perspective, it’s about three times the amount spent by the Connacht Council on the staging of games throughout the year.
Of the €1,211,795 spent on “Coaching & Development”, €725,494 was spent on “Wages & Expenses Coaches” with €486,301 going on “Coaching Expenses”.
This represents an increase on last years’ spend of €189,824.
